The Situation
Congress teams reused slide decks that died on busy floors — wrong order, no jump points, no signal on what resonated. Each show reinvented touch presentation with different vendors and different reporting gaps.
Goal & Expectations
Ship a cross-show interactive presentation and product slider system with modular content, touch navigation, and stakeholder dashboards leadership could trust after the hall closed.
Challenges
The hard parts were rarely just creative. They were floor reality, feasibility and the people who had to run it live.
Modular content governance
Modules updated at different times by different regions. Version mix-ups on show morning were a real risk without clear publishing rules.
Presenter + visitor modes
The same screen needed to work for a guided talk and a walk-up browser without mode confusion or accidental presenter exits.
Comparable analytics
Event tagging had to mean the same thing in Chicago, Paris, and Seoul so portfolio reviews were honest.
Where I Came In
I came in to design the presentation engine patterns — slider behavior, module linking, event taxonomy — and to train demo leads on live floor recovery. I sat on post-show reviews to refine what we tagged.
Approach
Kept navigation verbs consistent across clients, with a product slider layer for feature comparisons. Built dashboards around module touches and path completion, not raw screen time alone.
What We Built
Visitors and staff moved through features in conversation order, not slide order. Multiple congress floors ran the same interaction model with live engagement boards for internal review.
Other Teams Involved
Regional demo teams, marketing ops for module updates, and creative partners for visual templates.
On the Floor
Remote support during load-in for touch calibration and backup laptop routing. Playbooks for “stuck on module” recovery that booth staff could execute.
End Result
Presentation performance became visible across shows — which modules earned touches and where paths dropped — not just anecdotal recap decks.
Final Thought
I build presentation systems so the last day of the show is not the only day anyone learns. When marketing opens a dashboard and nods, that is the outcome slide decks never gave them.
