A dynamic product presentation for specialist audiences — built for live demos, not a static slide deck.

The Situation
AAPM audiences arrive informed. A standard slide deck forces a single pace, and the wrong slide at the wrong moment loses a room that already knows the vocabulary. Presenters needed freedom without looking unprepared.
Goal & Expectations
Replace linear decks with a live product story presenters could steer in real time. Capture which modules actually held attention so content could evolve for the next congress cycle.
Challenges
The hard parts were rarely just creative. They were floor reality, feasibility and the people who had to run it live.
Specialists, not tourists
Visitors skipped intro material and dove into detail. Navigation had to reward jumps without losing context or making the presenter hunt for the right chapter.
Live demo pressure
Sessions ran back-to-back with minutes to reset. The system had to recover instantly, survive accidental taps from the audience, and look polished on a large booth display.
Proof for stakeholders
Marketing needed evidence that interactive time beat passive viewing — not anecdotes from tired staff on the last day.
Where I Came In
I was brought in to design the presentation architecture: modular stories, touch-friendly controls, and a tagging model so engagement could be reported after AAPM. I sat in on dry runs with demo leads to learn their real talk tracks.
Approach
Broke the product narrative into named modules with a consistent visual language. Built presenter-first navigation — big targets, clear “home,” and quick jumps — while leaving an explore mode for unattended moments.
What We Built
Presenters opened the story that matched the audience in front of them, zoomed into features on demand, and closed with a coherent arc. Visitors who browsed alone still found depth without a guided tour.
Other Teams Involved
Client medical affairs for accuracy, creative for booth screens, and field demo team for rehearsal feedback.
On the Floor
Calibrated display timing with AV, verified touch response on the actual panel, and adjusted contrast for bright hall lighting during setup day.
End Result
Live AAPM sessions ran on interactive flows instead of static decks, with post-show reporting on module interest and session patterns.
Final Thought
When the audience is expert, respect their time more than your slide order. I loved watching a presenter skip straight to the controversy slide and still land the narrative — that is the freedom interactive presentation should buy.
