01

The Situation

HCE visitors expect a professional salon tone — not consumer flash. Conversations mix procurement, clinical leads, and partners, often in French-first contexts with bilingual materials in play.

02

Goal & Expectations

Deliver an unattended product showcase that feels credible on a European healthcare floor. Report what professionals actually opened, not just kiosk taps.

03

Challenges

The hard parts were rarely just creative. They were floor reality, feasibility and the people who had to run it live.

  • Localization and tone

Copy and structure had to feel native to the salon — formal where needed, clear everywhere — without slowing last-minute content updates.

  • Professional pacing

Visitors rejected gimmicky transitions. Interactions needed to be calm, readable, and respectful of long reading moments.

  • Salon logistics

Setup windows were tight and staff shifts changed daily. The kiosk had to survive restarts and casual misuse without calling engineering.

04

Where I Came In

I joined to translate global product story into a self-guided kiosk flow suited to HCE traffic patterns. I worked with local medical affairs to validate section order and terminology before Paris load-in.

05

Approach

Favored clear section labels, durable touch patterns, and printable-style typography for clinical readers. Built analytics around content sections, not raw session counts.

06

What We Built

Professionals browsed offerings independently, compared areas of interest, and arrived at human conversations better informed. The stand never looked empty when reps were in meetings.

07

Other Teams Involved

French market team, medical affairs for clinical accuracy, and stand builder for integrated screen cabinetry.

08

On the Floor

Coordinated power and network with the stand team on montage day. Adjusted idle language and timeout for salon hours versus late exhibitor evenings.

09

End Result

HCE Paris ran a polished self-guided showcase with section-level engagement views shared with the local team after the salon.

10

Final Thought

European healthcare salons reward restraint. I still remember a procurement visitor quietly reading an entire module while the aisle buzzed — that focus is the compliment a kiosk earns when it stops performing and starts informing.
