The Situation
KCR audiences blend expert radiologists and hospital decision-makers expecting precision, not spectacle. Dense product stories need spatial context, but the wrong immersive tone feels like marketing theatre on a clinical floor.
Goal & Expectations
Deliver an immersive 3D presentation that supports live demos and specialist dialogue under congress conditions. Keep navigation calm enough for expert readers and fast enough for busy aisle stops.
Challenges
The hard parts were rarely just creative. They were floor reality, feasibility and the people who had to run it live.
Expert expectations
Visitors challenged details immediately. Visuals and labels had to align with clinical reality and survive side-by-side comparison with competitor narratives.
Live demo rhythm
Presenters rotated groups quickly. Chapter transitions had to be instant and predictable, with no mystery clicks during VIP visits.
Cross-cultural delivery
Korea-market framing and bilingual cues needed to feel intentional, not bolted on after global master content.
Where I Came In
I was brought in to structure immersive chapters and presenter controls before KCR rehearsals. I worked with local marketing to align story order with how Korean hospital teams evaluate imaging investments.
Approach
Prioritized clarity in spatial layout — what am I looking at, why it matters — over decorative motion. Built presenter shortcuts tied to rehearsal scripts.
What We Built
Teams walked visitors through spatial product and clinical context; specialists could pause on detail layers while generalists stayed on the guided path. The booth felt serious, navigable, and alive during peak KCR hours.
Other Teams Involved
Korea marketing and medical, global product visuals, and local AV/production partners.
On the Floor
Matched display color to booth lighting on setup day. Ran group demo drills with presenters to tune default chapter and reset timing.
End Result
KCR ran immersive presentations suited to expert audiences, with flows stable enough for back-to-back live demos.
Final Thought
Immersive medical storytelling earns trust by disappearing — when the spatial view answers the question faster than words. KCR reminded me that respect for the audience beats wow every time on a congress floor.
